José Romussi

José Romussi (b. 1979, Chile) works with materials linked to the textile world. His practice incorporates a wide range of techniques—such as collage, embroidery, weaving, and patchwork—allowing the materials themselves to guide the formation of unique compositions, both pictorial and textural. Inspired by memory, everyday life, landscapes, and flowers, Romussi explores processes of natural dyeing, yarns and threads, geometric forms, and organic structures. His work brings together formal and conceptual elements of modernist abstraction while simultaneously challenging traditional conventions of textile practice.
