During Guadalajara Art Week 2026, Arsenal Galería inaugurates its new venue with the exhibition Laberinto Insomne (Sleepless Labyrinth) by Hugo Robledo, a collaboration with Galería Daniela Elbahara curated by Juvenal Urzúa.
Hugo Robledo (1990, Mexico) is a visual artist focused on exploring the possibilities of painting and its expansions into digital and three-dimensional media. His artistic approach takes space as its point of departure in all its forms—constructed, imagined, and represented—generating diverse bodies of work that engage with the history of architecture, the meaning of the modern, and material processes throughout the evolution of art. His work raises questions around the abstract and the concrete dimensions of architectural spaces, as well as the surface qualities and materiality inherent to the pictorial support.
Robledo holds a BA in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Arts and Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and completed an academic exchange at the Institute of Arts of São Paulo State University, Brazil, in 2012. He has presented five solo exhibitions in various venues across Mexico and has been a two-time recipient of the Jóvenes Creadores grant. He has participated in production residencies at Fazenda Serrinha (Bragança Paulista, Brazil) in 2012, Hotel El Ganzo (San José del Cabo, Mexico) in 2022, and Cobertizo (Jilotepec, Mexico) in 2020 and 2022.
