Gustos comparados

The MAZ presents Gustos comparados, an activation related to the exhibition Por fin, algo bueno [Now Is Better] by designer Stefan Sagmeister.

Through a data-visualization–based approach, visitors are invited to taste recipes prepared by Adán Meza Morales, a member of the museum’s Public Programs team. The experience translates historical and contemporary data into a sensory format, prompting reflection on how socioeconomic conditions have shaped—and continue to shape—access to food and nutrition. In an interactive installation, Sagmeister turns the act of eating into a bridge across time and geography, contrasting revealing data points—for example, the caloric value of a buckwheat, cabbage, and bean stew in 1700s France versus a maize, plantain, and bean stew in today’s Republic of the Congo.Adán Meza Morales holds a degree in Gastronomy from the Universidad Tecnológica de Guadalajara. Since 2024, he has worked as a mediator in MAZ’s Public Programs, integrating culinary culture into educational practices that explore connections between food, art, and community.
