Residency Exhibition: Art Week 2026 Edition

Residency Exhibition: Art Week 2026 Edition

El ROOM is pleased to present an exhibition showcasing the results of it’s residency program in a special edition held in conjunction with Art Week 2026. The artists in residence are Mexican-born and represent a generational and local cross- section of contemporary artistic production currently taking place in the center of the country, with artists from Ciudad de México, Querétaro, and Oaxaca. The exhibition features works in painting, drawing, photography, and installation.

The artists participating in this residency have made significant contributions to local culture through distinguished professional trajectories, as evidenced by the awards of national recognitions and grants such as the Sistema Nacional de Creadores, Jóvenes Creadores (FONCA), and the Fondo de Apoyo a la Producción del Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo (PAC). In addition, they have exhibited their work in a range of museums throughout Mexico, including Museo Experimental del Eco, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Querétaro, and Museo de la Ciudad de México.

They have also participated in international residency programs such as Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Canada, Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, Casa Wabi; Red Gate Residence, Beijing, and Cité du Design de Saint-Étienne, France. Furthermore, they have collaborated with brands such as Tequila Cuervo and Louis Vuitton. Their works are part of public collections including Colección Jumex, CONARTE, Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, Instituto de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca, and Museo de la Ciudad de México.

The research themes explored in this exhibition include reflections on image mediation and space, the void and memory, spatial construction through painting, and abstraction as a pathway to liberation.

The exhibition will be open to the public as part of the Art Week celebrations in Ciudad de México.

Artists: Ricardo Pinto (Ciudad de México 1973), Alejandro Palomino (Ciudad de Mexico 1986), Vladimir Zambrano (Ciudad de Mexico 1981), Sergio Alcocer Lira (Querétaro 1997)
