Lagos will hold Open Studio sessions of Gina Santos, Miranda Varo, Natalia García Clark y Carolina Vélez.
Gina Santos: Through a textile practice using fabric and her own hair, the artist resonates with systemic oppressions against women and, in connection with her Indigenous family lineage, seeks to reconfigure a legacy toward healing.
Miranda Varo: From a feminist perspective rooted in her family context from Baja California, Varo, in the piece she presents, intertwines textiles and violence, replacing the destructive weapon with the creative weapon contextualized within the landscape.
Natalia García Clark: Using images from Mexican films, taken from pirated distribution, in which women's falls are depicted, García Clark deconstructs the image of collapse through the vibrant sonorization of rising.
Carolina Vélez: The artist is developing a project that explores the dichotomies of analog/digital and corporal/virtual through an audiovisual installation featuring handmade video and audio oscillators.
