Lagos presents this month’s Open Studios, a showcase of works by Giada Gollín, Rocío Durán, and Valerie Reding.

Guiada Gollin

A Swiss artist who works within the conceptual space that lies at the intersection of irony, gender reflection, and the juxtaposition of meanings. During her residency, she has explored the creative recursivity of the object—which expresses both artistic technique and the creator—asking us: Who creates the work—the hand that guides the pencil, or the pencil that guides the hand?

Rocío Durán

A Mexican artist who, during her residency in Lagos, has formalized her expression toward new horizons and disciplines, working with memory as a bucolic space where childhood meets an awareness of transcendence in social action.

Valerie Reding

With solid and consistent research in hydro-feminism, this Luxembourg-born artist, who resides in Switzerland, has created a body of photographs during her one-month residency that connect her work to the social, symbolic, and urban spaces of Mexico City.
