Eduardo Berliner’s practice spills out like an urban stain across different materials, supports, and techniques. This endless and frenetic creative vocation emerges naturally from Berliner’s experience and hand. His constant roaming through Rio de Janeiro and within his studio, always seeking to satisfy the gaze, is what sets the rhythm of his creative process and enables the succession of serendipities that characterize his work.

In this way, his paintings unfold through a prior and subsequent composition made of different materials. The integration of pigments with this diversity of supports, and the distinct reaction each material has to pigment, shape the composition and scale of each piece. These clues are also what the eye needs to initiate the creative process. The deciphering of these stains, marks, and veils distances the artist from caprice and leads him toward revelation.
