Proyectos Multipropósito presents Decolonizing Light, a conversation between artist Manuel Pidal and curator Sandra Sánchez, offering an in-depth look into De lo camaleónico y otras bestias, Manuel’s first solo exhibition under the gallery’s representation.

What happens when a crucified Christ encounters a Coatlicue? Far from a harmonious synthesis, what emerges is “the chameleonic”: a survival strategy, a painterly methodology, and an act of theophagy.

Together, they will explore the exhibition’s three pillars: theophagy as the digestion of light; the chameleonic as camouflage and political contestation; and paradigms of faith in constant tension. A conversation that questions any fixed identity and immerses us in a visual metabolism that bleeds, buries its fang, and playfully redefines the encounter between two worlds.
