ESTUDIO LATERAL and SONA are pleased to present a retrospective of Claudia Luna’s recent work.

Claudia Luna’s work explores the ambivalence between staying and passing through public space, as well as the urban structures that enable or restrict these activities. Her practice reflects on the form, material, and design of urban furniture—elements that sometimes become physical barriers regulating mobility, rest, or gathering.

Building on this observation, her work investigates the relationship between the geometry of these objects—commonly heavy, rigid, and immovable—and the fragility of the materials she uses to reinterpret them. Through playful and fragile replicas, Claudia Luna alters the perception and function of these urban devices, activating new dynamics that operate as a symbolic statement drawn from the experience of her passing body.
