With Cannon Bernáldez and Luis Josué Martínez Rodríguez
Talk
-> Dec 18
Patricia Conde Galería invites you to Charlas, rifa & ponche, an informal conversation between artist Cannon Bernáldez, the exhibition’s curator Luis Josué Martínez Rodríguez, and the public.
This activation proposes an intimate space for dialogue: no table, no microphones—standing and in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages direct conversation between the audience, the artist, and the curator. Cannon and Luis Josué will talk about the processes behind the exhibition, the triggering images, the gestures of resistance that run through the work, and the relationship between play, territory, and the body. The gathering will be accompanied by punch, and attendees will have the chance to participate in a raffle for a proof by Cannon Bernáldez.
The exhibition Jugar en malpaís, on view until January 17, explores how the body inhabits and resists precarious, rugged, or transforming spaces. Through playful gestures, minimal movements, and moments of suspension, Cannon Bernáldez proposes play as a way of being in the world—a mechanism of resistance and a possibility of floating even within harsh contexts. Curated by Luis Josué Martínez Rodríguez, the exhibition traces a path that reveals the tension between vulnerability and agency, between territory and desire, between the wound and possibility.
