Daniela Elbahara presents the solo exhibition of Camila Izaguirre, Velar el sueño.
Camila Izaguirre is a visual artist whose work is characterized by the construction of intimate atmospheres where memory, imagination, and the contemplation of spaces converge. A graduate of the Bachelor of Arts program at the Universidad de Monterrey, she has developed an artistic practice that explores different media such as painting, drawing, photography, and alternative techniques, through which she builds a personal imaginary marked by the mysticism of places, interior landscapes, and the poetry of night. Her work approaches everyday life from a perspective of mystery, observing anomalies in physical space, natural or supernatural phenomena, and the emotional processes that inhabit seemingly ordinary environments. In Camila's work, night appears as an intimate and reflective territory. Her paintings often present silent and enigmatic spaces, illuminated by a twilight light that envelops scenes where human presence is barely hinted at, as if they were echoes or traces of a diffuse memory. Within that nocturnal atmosphere, melancholy functions as a guiding thread that allows her to explore emotions tied to nostalgia, introspection, and the strange beauty of moments of silence. Through these visual elements, Izaguirre seeks to provoke in the viewer a sense of strange familiarity: a recognition of places or atmospheres that seem known, yet at the same time generate an inexplicable void.
