Querido lector. No lea
Workshop
-> Apr 19
Querido lector. No lea is the title of one of the pieces by Mexican artist and publisher Ulises Carrión. It is from this provocation that we create a space of anti-reading online with periodic sessions.
Astronautas, música y tremulaciones is a performative reading that explores the voice as both virtual and auditory matter. Through repetitions, variations, and subtle vibrations in intonation, the text transforms into a landscape drawn from the cinematics of a video game, where word and music intertwine. The reading does not seek to narrate in a linear fashion, but rather to activate a listening experience in which language shifts and resonates within space.
Requirements: An electronic device (phone, tablet, or computer) with a camera, microphone, speakers or headphones, and the Zoom app, as well as a stable internet connection. It is not necessary to read the book in advance.
Pegso is a mediator between word and action who presents online sessions and exercises in experimentation with voice and language, without assuming the role of writer or performer. Their practice stems from the idea that reading does not necessarily imply following a text in a linear manner, but can also be a performative action: cutting, repeating, disordering, or interpreting fragments. In their periodic anti-reading sessions, they use different texts as material to explore other forms of relating to reading, shifting it toward the body, the voice, and improvisation.
