Quadra is participating in the 2026 edition of CONDO Mexico City at the invitation of Campeche, with a project that reaffirms the collaborative nature of the initiative by fostering encounters between galleries and artists from different contexts.
CONDO proposes a reconfiguration of traditional exhibition models through a collaborative model between host and guest galleries. In this edition, Campeche welcomes Brazilian gallery Quadra with a presentation of works by Arorá, Manuela Costa Lima, and Thomaz Rosa.
Working from a perspective of co-creation with materials, Arorá develops works that move between painting, sculpture, and installation, exploring states of transformation and material instability. Her pieces establish rarefied atmospheres in which landscapes and forms emerge as ambiguous presences, activating in the viewer a sense of proximity and suspension.
Manuela Costa Lima, for her part, investigates the symbolic potential of ordinary materials, articulating gestures of gathering, illumination, and reorganization that traverse the everyday. Her sculptures and installations propose a spiritual dimension inscribed in common experience, displacing banal objects toward a field of intensified attention and expanded sensitivity.
Thomaz Rosa develops an expanded investigation of painting, articulating signs from diverse visual traditions. By putting tension between error, accident, and compositional structure, his works operate as unstable surfaces that oscillate between image and object, constructing visual systems that unfold into multiple readings.
Quadra is a contemporary art gallery committed to fostering the research and production of young artists whose practices delve into experimentation. It was founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2018 by Marcela Setton, and opened its second exhibition space in São Paulo in 2022.
