Since the beginning and until his recent production, the artist brings out a deep ironic character. However, it not only refers to the colloquial meaning of the word irony.

The decision of irony in art involves the dissolution of the existing limits in acts of thinking, language and creativity. O´Connell´s artistic profile operates with the vanishing of several borders: it crosses, in an organic way, from architecture to visual arts. The artist moves fluently from the intervention in the three dimensional space to the objetual assembly, and from there to the graphic and other conceptual devices.

Después del colapso is an exhibition of the artist´s production that offers a sample of his free transit though disciplines and media, concentrates his discourse in the affirmative deconstruction of the meaning of the ruin.
