Galería Hilario Galguera presents Índex VII: XX, an exhibition that revisits, from the present moment, some of the lines that have defined its program over the course of two decades, within the context of Mexico City Art Week 2026. Índex VII: XX returns to one of the gallery’s most recognizable collective projects, conceived as a space of convergence among diverse artistic practices and the various modes of thought that have established the gallery’s style and conceptual framework, defining its position within the international contemporary art context. Curated by Hilario Galguera, this edition of Índex moves away from conventional formats to manifest as a continuous dialogue that has shaped the gallery’s artistic environment.
Through three key spaces, Índex VII: XX unfolds as a journey that reflects how the gallery has expanded its forms of exhibition and dialogue in recent years. From its intervention at Casa Hotbook, through the Galería Hilario Galguera Condesa space, to the gallery’s largest venue in the historic San Rafael neighborhood, the exhibition is constructed as an expanded curatorial project.
San Rafael Venue
Located in the heart of the San Rafael neighborhood, the gallery’s main venue acts as the institutional anchor and the core of the memory of ÍNDEX VII: XX. This space safeguards the backbone of the curatorial review, presenting works that have been fundamental in establishing the gallery’s language within the global circuit. Here, the selection focuses on the solidity of discourse and the presence of works that—due to their scale and conceptual weight—define the standard of rigor the gallery has maintained. Galería Hilario Galguera San Rafael is not only the point of departure, but also the place where visitors can confront the intellectual legacy and the pillars that sustain Hilario Galguera’s program.
