Índex VII: XX

Galería Hilario Galguera presents Índex VII: XX, an exhibition that revisits, from a contemporary perspective, some of the lines that have defined its program over the course of two decades, within the context of Mexico City Art Week 2026. Índex VII: XX returns to one of the gallery’s most recognizable collective projects, conceived as a space of convergence between diverse artistic practices and the various modes of thought that have shaped the gallery’s style and conceptual framework, defining its position within the international contemporary art scene. Curated by Hilario Galguera, this edition of Índex moves away from conventional formats to manifest as a continuous dialogue that has shaped the gallery’s artistic environment.

Through three key spaces, Índex VII: XX unfolds as a journey that reflects the ways in which the gallery has expanded its forms of exhibition and dialogue in recent years. From its intervention at Casa Hotbook, through the Galería Hilario Galguera Condesa space, to the gallery’s largest venue in the historic San Rafael neighborhood, the exhibition is constructed as an expanded curatorial project.

Condesa Venue

Located in the central courtyard shared by the Andaz and Mondrian hotels, the gallery proposes an immersive experience. Inspired by the historical tradition of print cabinets, the museography at the Condesa venue breaks with the distance of the traditional white cube, inviting close and attentive observation. The installation is characterized by a curatorial approach in which small- and medium-format works allow for a deliberate saturation of ideas. On these walls, artists currently represented by the gallery coexist with artists invited in previous editions of Índex, as well as collaborators from alternative spaces.
