trapo, galería is a contemporary art space. Since its founding in 2002, it has presented the work of more than one hundred Mexican and Latin American artists across approximately fifty programs, including exhibitions of visual art and sound experimentation, as well as residencies and seminars. It conceives of itself as a meeting point that fosters dialogue between visitors and collaborators through the content of its exhibitions. In this sense, it also seeks to guide its audiences in exploring and reflecting on current artistic practices. trapo, Galería operates as a non-profit initiative, where the sale of works responds to the need to sustain its program, while also offering an alternative to the city’s traditional channels for acquiring contemporary art.
