The Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros (SAPS) is a museum space of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), founded by muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros in 1969 with the aim of turning art into a public and social event. Today, the institution’s mission is to preserve, study, and activate his artistic, political, and pedagogical legacy from a contemporary perspective. More than a traditional museum, SAPS functions as a living laboratory that articulates archive, architecture, and community. Through curatorial and educational programs, the space fosters current artistic production and critical thinking, placing Mexican modernity in dialogue with the urgencies of the present. Thus, it addresses the public dimension of art not only as exhibition but as a social and collective practice.
