The Xalapa Museum of Anthropology of the Universidad Veracruzana is an institution dedicated to the preservation, conservation, research, dissemination, and interpretation of the archaeological remains of the pre-Hispanic cultures that developed in the territory of the state of Veracruz. It also hosts temporary exhibitions of art and civilization.
The MAX’s Temporary Exhibitions Department welcomes, manages, organizes, oversees, and promotes exhibitions of non-archaeological artworks from any latitude, period, style, or technique. Its galleries serve as a cultural and artistic meeting point that helps foster a more reflective society.
