La Clínica is an art center situated at the intersection of international and local practices. Located in downtown Oaxaca, this corner once housed the city’s first private medical clinic. The space’s curatorial approach and program are shaped by this legacy. They produce residencies, exhibitions, artist talks, and performances, among other formats. The diagnostic process informs how they understand research and creation. They are currently transitioning away from the inert objectivity of (Western) medical diagnosis—understood as the linear evaluation of disease—and toward the development of public programs for deeply subjective and situated practices.
