"Painting, like the agave, takes root with strength, unfolds with character, and endures with a presence that resists time."
– Letma Elvira, exhibition curator.

With the exhibition AGAVES, ACERT Galería Itinerante presents a new stage in its exhibition program in collaboration with Galería Nueva Ciudad de México. The show brings together a series of works by the catalan artist esterflorestravesa, created during her residency in Mexico, where she lived and worked for two years in Cuernavaca. AGAVES comes from a profound connection between the artist and the Mexican landscape.

The agave, a sculptural plant and symbol of identity, is the central motif of this series of oil paintings on canvas and yagua. More than a botanical representation, her works capture the energy and inner rhythm of this species: its vital symmetry, its silent strength, its restrained beauty.

This exhibition also sets a transition in the artist’s use of color. Moving away from the chromatic sobriety of her years in Catalonia, esterflorestravesa now embraces a more vibrant palette, influenced by the tropical light and southern vegetation. Each work is the result of a sensory immersion, where the experience of the surroundings becomes gesture, texture, and stroke.
