Yolanda Ceballos

Pequod Co. presents change of state, Yolanda Ceballos's first exhibition at the gallery.

To continue documenting her memory during the pandemic and continue with the indexing record that she has been carrying out for several years, Ceballos found it necessary to build a space for her body that came from within herself. Having lived in the same room for a long period of time made her aware of the space her body takes, or the one it will leave when it is no longer there.

The project seeks to reconstruct time and space using their bodily proportions, through sculptures and paintings made of black concrete, wax and steel.

For the first time, Ceballos incorporates technological artifacts that help document and activate the pieces, through the artificial reproduction of her emotional state during certain symbolic days of her life.
