Toda memoria es un lugar

Lateral presents the collective exhibition Toda memoria es un lugar where the following participate: Tonatiuh Cabello, Viri Florentti, José Alfredo Garza and Paola Ismene.

Intermedio is an exhibition program that seeks to open spaces for dialogue and exchange, promoting experimentation and fostering an approach to contemporary photographic practices in Mexico City. Through installation exercises that resemble visits to studios, we present various projects as a printshow. This approximation allows the artistic process to be the way to access different views on a common axis.

In its first edition, Intermedio presents the work of four creators who approach the landscape as a way of relating to the world and the image. Every memory is a place is an invitation to delve into four perspectives that oscillate between the recording of peripheral daily life, photographic abstraction, the experience of habitable space and the introspective exploration of nature. These approaches allow us to reconfigure our experience of the environments that coexist around us, from those in which we live to those we look at in the distance.

The selection was the result of a study on the Landscape emoji from the Directory of Authors of the Contemporary Images Platform (PICS) of the Centro de la Imagen, a site dedicated to the dissemination of emerging photography in Mexico.
