Tierra Condenada

Sostener el cielo: reescrituras, resonancias y contigüidades minerales

The CCEMx presents the Public program of the exhibition Tierra Condenada, "Sostener el cielo: reescrituras, resonancias y contigüidades minerales". An exhibition instigated by Bea Millón and accompanied by Andrea Ancira sharing with Sandra Sánchez, Ollin Vázquez, Macarena Hernández, Sebastián Terrones and E Tonatiuh Trejo.

In this session, a group of people who work with words and sound in an expanded way will share with us ways to rewrite and resonate with different mining extraction processes based on the publication Oro y Plata, Hierro y Plomo, Yodo y Litio edited by Bea Millón. This book, which is part of the exhibition "Tierra Condenada" is the result of a process of artistic, editorial and activist community research in contexts of mining extraction in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina and Mexico that reflects on the process of mineralization of bodies and open-pit mining as a colonial-imperial ecological project. The chorus of voices gathered here articulates testimonies of people affected by mining, reflections of activists, historians and miners, as well as a series of artistic exercises to accompany the struggles in defense of the territories affected by mining.
