Subasta con Causa: 40th anniversary of MSF’s presence in Mexico

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and the América Mexicana Collective (AM) are jointly organizing Subasta con Causa, with the aim of raising funds to support MSF’s operations in Mexico.

This event is part of the activities marking the 40th anniversary of MSF’s presence in Mexico and will take place on October 11 at Laguna, located at Doctor Lucio 181, Colonia Doctores, Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City.

The Auction seeks to create a space where the works of a wide range of artists—both established figures in the art world such as Melecio Galván (†), Abraham Cruz Villegas, and Pedro Reyes, as well as emerging talents such as Ana Segovia, Celestial Brizuela, Wendy Cabrera Rubio, and Carlos Martínez—come together with the shared goal of raising awareness about the complex migratory dynamics affecting Mexico and the region. At the same time, it aims to strengthen cultural and artistic channels as spaces for reflection, awareness, and solidarity with those most in need.

A total of 77 artists from different regions of the country have joined this initiative by donating over 80 original works.

MSF’s recent report, Rejected: The Devastating Human Impact of Shifting Migration Policies in the United States, Mexico, and Central America, found that although migration flows have changed since January 2025, people on the move continue to suffer violence and are increasingly forced to remain unseen. Likewise, MSF has identified a growing need for mental health care among this population.

In this spirit, beyond raising funds, the Auction also seeks to provide a space where reflections, experiences, and concerns surrounding migration can intersect and circulate through the central axis of art and culture.

40% of the funds raised will go to MSF’s operations in Mexico, 30% will go to the artists who donated their works, and the remaining 30% will go to the art collective.
