Four Mexican photographers spent time as artists-in-residence in Fiskars, Finland, during different periods between 2015 and 2019. What draws artists from such a distant latitude to this austere landscape? Beyond each one’s particular research, we may find an answer in the natural and geographic context. Through four distinct perspectives and their ways of approaching territory, light, time, and silence, the landscape is understood less as a genre of photography than as a concept, becoming a point of dialogue between experiences, processes, and interests, and thus giving rise to the exhibition Solitaria cae la noche sobre nosotros, solitarios amanecen los días brillantes.
