Event
-> Apr 5
Mexico City is joining Slow Art Day for the first time, a global non-profit initiative launched in 2010 that invites us to experience art calmly and mindfully.
In a world immersed in immediacy and the rapid consumption of images, Slow Art Day offers an alternative: to look calmly—ideally for 5 to 10 minutes per artwork—and connect with everything art can convey when we take the time to truly see it.
On Saturday, April 5, more than 35 cultural venues — including museums, galleries and cultural centers — will offer special programming designed to explore this sensory and reflective approach, which also extends into artistic practice. Activities organized by the participating venues and held at specific times will include guided tours (some with the presence of the artists), conversations, activity sheets, interactive dynamics, immersive experiences, and workshops in body, literary, or visual expression inspired by this approach.
Some of the participating locations are Arte Uno Galería, Arte Abierto, Alejandra Topete Gallery, Amplia Galería, Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo, CAM Galería, Casa Wabi Sabino, Galería Claroscuro, Galería Color CDMX, Galería Enrique Guerrero, Fiera Arte no Domesticado, Galería Ethra, Galería Karen Huber, Lago Algo, Íconos Galería, Kurimanzutto, Le Laboratoire, LS/Galería, Museo Casa de Carranza, Museo Jumex, Museo Kaluz, Museo Vivo del Muralismo, Museo Soumaya, Galería Naranjo 141, Olivia Foundation, Galería Oscar Román, Pablo Goebel Fine Arts, Peana, Proyecto N.A.S.A.L., Proyecto Paralelo, Taller Cristina Torres, Terreno Baldío, Third Born, Tinta Naranja Galería, Saenger Galería, Spark Studio and Zona de Riesgo Art.
Access, logistics, and schedules of the activities will be subject to the policies and programming of each venue. Please check each space's communication channels in advance.
