Sin permiso

The Mooni project and art space and Tallerocho8, a textile production workshop originally from Oaxaca, unite in rebellion and present Sin permiso, an exhibition that aims to expand the limits of normative plans during Art Week in Mexico City.

Just as Beto Ruiz, artisan and founder of Tallerocho8, seeks to disobey tradition —not to discard it, but to expand its possibilities—, Mooni dares to propose an alternative to the white cube, from a powerful creative impulse, without asking for permission.

Tallerocho8 produced a series of rugs, with a variety of textiles, geometric motifs and ranges of colors, in order to place them all over Mooni's floor in both of his branches (Condesa and Roma). The ceilings do not remain empty either, they are wrapped in posters, emblematic for the culture of print and graphic design, which give it a life never seen before in space.

On the walls is Mooni's usual offering: a selection of around 80 emerging artists from Latin America, including Ángela Levya, Daniel Berman, Arantxa Solís, Luisa Salas and Stefano de Cristofaro.

Sin permiso by Mooni X Tallerocho8, it will be available from February 8 to 12, 2023, from 11 am to 7 pm, at Mooni Condesa (Fernando Montes de Oca 43), Condesa and at Mooni Roma (Colima 129, Roma Norte, Ciudad de México).
