Sebastián Barrandeguy presents Tharsis Forests at Plomo Gallery.

A new body of work created from a very intimate need to recognize ourselves in our surroundings. The exhibited sculptures have been modeled by the artist in opposition to an absent or perhaps unrecognizable environment, where the forms, colors and scales of the natural world claim their presence.

Having lived for thousands of years in the domains of nature, today we exist most of the time in spaces invented by us. Without understanding why we clearly yearn for the mountains, the sea, the jungle… while the concrete alienates us. A primal pulse calls us to adventure, to the exploration of new and unexplored territory, with this present feeling we enter the Tharsis Forests, as if on a reconnaissance mission.
