As part of the public program of the exhibition una voz / una imagen, the Centro Cultural de España en México presents Pensar con Voz/Vos, a workshop given by the artist Sarmen Almond.
Within the framework of the exhibition una voz / una imagen, a vocal exploration workshop will be held, which proposes to give voice to thought through pure vocal sound and words. Through the search for vocal sound resources that allow directing ideas from a visual motif that triggers the imagination and generates links between voice and image. The sonorous materiality of the voice will take agency and become present, articulating an infinity of forms and imagined words.
Sarmen Almond is a Mexican musician and vocal performer. Intermediate artist and voice teacher specialized in the Roy Hart tradition. She holds a Master's degree in Sonic Arts from Queen's University Belfast and is certified in the Specialty in Relational Psychosomatics, issued by the CIPSR Latin America / Centre International de Psychosomatique Relationnelle.
Almond builds and directs Alquimia Vocal, a professional and ongoing teaching platform for the use of the voice on stage. Her work guides the use of the spoken and sung voice, as well as deep breathing as a way to connect with the psychosomatic center.
