After hosting two editions during Mexico City's Art Week, this time Siempre Sí joins the Design Week activities calendar. This third volume is once again held at the house of Taller Nacional, located in the Juárez neighborhood.
Salón Siempre Sí is a horizontal space for the exhibition of art and design made in Mexico. Salón Siempre Sí seeks to elevate Mexico's creative potential in a space free of categorical or hierarchical divisions between art and design, where these disciplines feel accessible to all. In this edition, Salón Siempre Sí presents CORTEZAS, an exhibition that brings together the work of 16 artists, designers, and design studios from the national scene. The show features pieces that, through their conception, appearance, function, or discourse, invite us to examine the multiple layers that constitute the world we inhabit, the stories that emerge from them, and how we interpret them.
Creators from various generations and trajectories, hailing from different states across the country, participate in this edition. The artists featured are: Ana Paula Ramírez, Ariana Díaz, Carlos Lara, Chavis Mármol, Christian Vivanco, Comité de Proyectos, Déjate Querer, Disciplina Studio, Emiliano de Ezkauriatza, Ernesto Azcárate, Estudio Sardina, Karian Amaya, Lucía R, Michele Lorusso, Perla Krauze, and Tuux. Most of the pieces were created especially for Salón Siempre Sí. For example, Perla Krauze (Mexico City, 1953) created one of her graphite prints on fabric, using frottage on the surface of various architectural elements of the location, while Ana Paula Ramírez (Mexico City, 1997) produced a piece of furniture in collaboration with Taller Nacional using the heart of the corn cob, a technique she developed.
The exhibition was curated by the project’s founders: Joséphine Dorr (founder and director of Onda MX), Gabriel Arredondo, and Luis Arredondo (founders and directors of Taller Nacional).
The exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, from Friday, October 11 to Tuesday, October 15, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
On the opening night on Friday October, 11, Siempre Sí will host a big party. Tickets available on passline.com.
