Aparador presents the first solo show in Mexico by Filipino-American artist Sabrina Herbosa Reyes, Elogio de mudanza. Herbosa -architect, sculptor and movement artist- explores in her work the silent, reverential ability of spaces to marvel and try to establish through them a relationship between us and the cosmos, whether these spaces are natural or created by the human hand.
In Elogio de Mudanza, through a selection of recent works, he seeks to explore those sensations that we carry with us when we move from home, to the city, to the country: the sensation of waking up with the light that enters through the window in the morning, for example. ; even if the light, the window and the room are different each time. A continuous search to be able to perceive the sublime and ephemeral of everyday beauty, choosing materials from which these qualities would not be expected.
Sabrina Herbosa lives and works between Mexico City and New York. Her work has been presented in Mexico at Material and she was recently selected for the Gallim Residency artistic residency program in New York by choreographer Marie Lloyd Paspe, with a piece Inspired by her life in the Philippines.
