SAMPLERS, ancestral technology

Centro Cultural de España en México presents SAMPLERS, ancestral technology with the participation of Eugenia Silveira Chirimi, Greys Vecchionacce, Jéssica Ordoñez, Daniel Márquez.

This project merges the creation of a contemporary dance piece with the compilation of the artist's family archive. In this research, Eugenia Silveira Chirimini explores the power of sampling and applies it to different aspects of her artistic work. Inspired by the hip hop tradition, where sampling is used to take fragments of music and create new compositions, she decides to transfer this concept to her own family archive and its traditions, encompassing the musical, photographic, aesthetic, cinematographic and technological.
