-> Jan 19 2024
El Palmar invites you to the closing event of the group exhibition Prótesis. Body languages with a performance by the dancer Raquel Salgado.
Raquel Salgado's artistic practice is based on butoh dance, performance and voice. She focuses on associative and interdisciplinary processes that go from the visceral to the formal, creating non-linear narratives. She is a butoh dance teacher for people with or without dance experience. She has shared workshops within psychiatric centers with older men and teenage women.
She has performed in independent spaces, roads, garages and museums in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, Tokyo, Xalapa and Morelos.
The artist and dancer will activate many of the pieces found in the gallery; in which they participate: Sandra Sánchez, Fernanda Barreto, Lucía R and Valeria Montoya.
In walking, the prosthesis is the ethereal embrace that returns longing to the absent body. It is a state of rest in terms of its weight, movement, sound or vibration.
