Ramiro Gonzalez Luna

Ready-Maybe

Ready-Maybe is a critical reflection on daily life through the lens of art history, where Ramiro Gonzalez Luna translates iconic contemporary artworks into ceramics, blending homage, humor, and transformation. Opening on May 22, 2025, the exhibition marks a pivotal moment in the artist’s practice: the convergence of function and gesture, of the familiar and the ready-made.

Inspired by the legacy of the readymade—Marcel Duchamp’s radical act of transforming everyday objects into art—Ramiro subverts the concept by manually reinterpreting celebrated works. What was once a detached mechanical gesture becomes an embodied, tactile, and deeply personal translation.

The exhibition features ceramic sculptures that replicate and reimagine recognizable works of contemporary art in Ramiro’s distinctive visual language: colorful, witty, and material. Alongside them is a debut collection of functional objects that playfully alter expectations: a Crocs shoe becomes a lamp; a Cheeto puff becomes a bench. These pieces are both practical and poetic.

Ramiro invites us to rethink the objects that surround us—not just in terms of form or function, but for the histories and associations they carry. In his work, the everyday is a portal to deeper meaning, shaped by lineage, humor, and reinterpretation.
