Peter Koch

Patricia Conde Galería, in collaboration with Ediciones Escarabajo, presents the ninth intervention to the gallery's library: The Art of Bookmaking by Peter Koch.

Peter Koch is a master typographic printer, publisher and creator of artist's books, born in Montana, United States. He is internationally recognized for his work in book publishing and design, Koch has published under various imprints such as Black Stone Press, Peter and the Wolf Editions, Editions Koch, Hormone Derange Editions, and Peter Koch Printer and The REAL LEAD Saloon.

In 2005, together with Susan Filter, he founded The Codex Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of the book. Since 2007, this foundation has organized the CODEX International Book Fair, which is held every two years.

Peter Koch's books and artworks have been exhibited in renowned institutions such as the New York Public Library, the San Francisco Public Library, Harvard University's Widener Library, the Yellowstone Museum of Art and the Gibson Square Museum of Art in Paris. He has also had major retrospectives, such as the one held by Stanford University Libraries in 2017 and by the Grolier Club in 2019.
