Ofrenda de Día de Muertos: Pico y Chapo

The Ofrenda de Día de Muertos [Day of the Dead offering] at the Anahuacalli in its 2023 edition will bear the name Pico and Chapo as a tribute to Diego Rivera's daughters. These affectionate nicknames, "Pico" for Guadalupe Rivera Marín and "Chapo" for his sister Ruth, were coined by Diego himself as intimate expressions of affection for them. By naming the ofrenda Pico and Chapo, the intention is to honor his memory and highlight the relationship that Diego Rivera shared with his daughters, reflecting the essence of family and remembrance that characterizes the Day of the Dead.
