Noches en el Museo Jumex

On the last Wednesday of every month, Museo Jumex opens with extended hours—a chance to visit the exhibitions Gabriel de la Mora: La Petite Mort, Works from the Jumex Collection, The Tiger’s Coat, and Elsa-Louise Manceaux: Notas de voz.

6 PM | Walkthrough with curator Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio

The guest curator of The Tiger’s Coat will lead a tour of the exhibition through a nonlinear, detective-like narrative, delving into the multiple identities of Tina Modotti and the stories her works reveal.

Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio

(Mexico, 1985) Editor and curator. He holds an MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. His work focuses on modernity in Latin America and on printed matter such as artist books and archives.

7 PM | I Always Arrive After the Storm: Screening of The Tiger’s Coat with live sound by Concepción Huerta

The 1920 American silent film starring Tina Modotti is one of the historical and conceptual anchors of Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio’s curatorial project. The screening will feature live sound by Concepción Huerta, who will create a sonic atmosphere based on Modotti’s biographical elements and the writings of Gloria Anzaldúa, exploring identity, exile, and the body as border.

Concepción Huerta

Multidisciplinary artist focused on the sonic spectrum. Her practice includes installations, speculative narratives, and immersive experiences. She has collaborated with Mabe Fratti, Leslie García, and CNDSD, and is part of the projects Amor Muere and The Sacredness of All Dimensions of Life.
