Nada sucede dos veces de la misma forma

Cerámica Suro + LOOT

Exhibition

-> Feb 8 2023 – Feb 12 2023

Cerámica Suro, originally from Guadalajara, expands its territories by collaborating with LOOT MX during Art Week in Mexico City.

This multidisciplinary space lends its walls to Nothing happens twice in the same way, an exhibition that invites national and international artists recognized in the contemporary environment to intervene ceramic pieces that have a daily function, with an aesthetic intention.

The series is based on the concept of creation as a repetitive and transformation process. Using the plate as the base object, the personality of each artist is reflected in each stamped design and gives a sculptural value to a piece for domestic use.

Among the participating artists are: Clara Cebrian, Jose Dávila, Marcel Dzama, Alejandro Garcia, Leiko Ikemura, JIS, Monica Leyva, Grant Levy-Lucero, Paty Lopez, Jorge Mendez Blake, Renata Morales, Nihura, Renata Petersen, Gabriel Rico, Eduardo Sarabia

Cocktails by Mateo Galindo Chisos Variations:

Mateo Galindo is an artist who works with sound, sculpture and moving image, currently living in Marfa, TX. His practice is based on collaborative and experimental approaches to creation and documentation. In 2015, he co-founded Atomic Culture, a curatorial platform that works with artists to create custom performances and public sculptures for each location. His performance Chiso Variations addresses the sounds of the Chisos Mountains, their geographical location, their stories and myths. Intrigued by the embodiment of sound and its ability to evoke images and sensations, he uses experimental samplers and electronic technology to "weave" electroacoustic recordings of his own from Big Bend, Texas, and FM broadcasts broadcast in Mexico City to create a superimposed soundscape of the two spaces.
