Una corriente envuelve al vacío

Event

-> Sep 28

Murmuro presents its second edition, Una corriente envuelve al vacío.

Murmuro is a sound art encounter that generates ephemeral listening spaces dedicated to the different ways of relating to sound and the various disciplines that deal with it.

Murmuro creates curatorial proposals that put in dialogue agents from different circuits, trajectories, disciplines and coordinates of the country and Latin America. We are interested in being a meeting point between visual and sound arts, emphasizing practices that proceed from and for listening as a political act.

Currently, Murmuro focuses on providing exhibition and meeting spaces for practices such as installation and sound sculpture, experimental laudery, sound meditations and listening environments for acousmatic pieces.

Their dissemination efforts are focused on bringing new audiences to the sound art scene through communication and mediation strategies that are accessible and enjoyable.

Una corriente envuelve al vacío is the second edition of Murmuro, a listening and sound art festival that takes place in Mexico City. For this edition, Murmuro presents a curatorship designed to dialogue with the space, conceiving the encounter as an ecology of elements that are in constant movement and dialogue. Sound is movement, it passes, it runs, it happens, it has a trajectory. It is in this sense that the selection of sculptures and sound installations that will occupy the space address different phenomena associated with currents: bodies of water, wind, bird migrations, sound waves.

The event is conceived in 3 moments:

  1. Sound Walk. A walk through the gardens with the help of El Círculo de Estudios Contra el Soundscape. 14:00 to 15:00 hrs.
  2. Sound Garden. A series of sound sculptures installed in the scenic pavilion with works by Dani Escamilla, Rafael Flores, Tania Alejandra, Francisco Pedroza, José Orozco Mora. 14:00-18:00 hrs.
  3. Live performances. Musical ensemble, sound polyphony and performance with the participation of Nuube, Bella Com Som, Paulina Grange, Círculo Contra el Soundscape, Ambient para Leer, Lucía Hinojosa and David Rothenberg. 18:00 - 21:00 hrs.
