Today there are more pieces of cultural heritage in homes, offices, on-site museums and abroad than in Mexican most important institutions, because, since the 16th century, much of the cultural heritage of Mesoamerica has been displaced from its place of origin, making it difficult its observation, study and record.
Modelos Alternos de Investigación Arqueológica [Alternate Models of Archaeological Research] is an initiative that seeks to re-discover parts of the cultural heritage that are not present.
In this edition, 24 orthographic views and two sculptures approximately 10 times their original size show us the vision of oneself that our ancestors had during the classical period in western Mexico. Made entirely in 3D printing with a plaster and pigment coating, pp00 and pp01, these pieces are the starting point of an alternative model of archaeological research.
