Fleeting Moments
Aldo Chaparro Studio presents Fleeting Moments by Miriam Kruishoop, curated by Anna Dusi.
A thought before the act...
Within the swirl and frenzy of life, ephemeral moments remind us of our inner beauty, our strength and fragility, earth's wonder, the cycle of life and decay. These are remnants of debris on a pathway, a faded color on a crumbling wall, a glimpse of light and shape in a darkened space, an unexpected texture, a footprint in the sand. Being mindful of these moments and capturing them reminds us of the connections that live eternally beyond us.
Spatiotemporal occurrences happen in a split second of time and space — and connect those momentary experiences to universally felt emotions.
Here is a poetic reflection before submerging into Miriam Kruishoop's new body of work. Exploring gestures and emotions through materials and objects provides a different perception for the viewer to capture beauty and fragility.
A female gaze fully engages in an exhibition that foregrounds the capacity of light to activate different forms and suggests the beauty and transience of the natural/real world. This show presents a collection of stunning pieces. Thus, given the opportunity, audiences will marvel at their strength, vulnerability, and obvious dedication to craftsmanship.
This project results from a collaborative narrative with the artist. It encapsulates a fondness for objects, colors, and the sense of time of living. Miriam's work allows a significant encounter to reconnect and reboot our lives in the particularly critical historical moment we live in.
