Sound improvisation
The Italian Institute of Culture presents Mexican Rarities Live Act, sound improvisation.
Mexican Rarities Live Act is a timeless interweaving through sound improvisation with turntables and Mexican music records from the privacy of the Mexican Rarities Archive.
Mexican Rarities is a record label, an archive and a distribution platform for music found in different layers of the Mexican subsoil.
At Mexican Rarities we want to contribute to the creation of a Mexican sound memory, which is why we have built a thematically organized archive that we hope will serve as a context for future generations.
At Mexican Rarities we think of sound as a valuable material that is important to preserve, we make first editions of sounds that captivate us and reissues of Mexican artists that were hidden in the folds of time.
Mexican Rarities Live Act is part of Hacerse Mundo, a public program curated by Matteo Binci, carried out for the Italian Institute of Culture in Mexico City from October 15 to December 3, 2022.
