Lateral
As part of the activities of the exhibition Actos de imagen, Lateral presents a dialogue in which the curator Andrea Torreblanca participates to share reflections on the artistic and research work of Mariela Sancari, who explores the body, performance and photography.
Andrea Torreblanca (Mexico City, 1979) holds an MA in curatorial studies from CCS, Bard College, New York. Current curatorial project director at INSITE, for which she conceived Commonplaces, a curatorial platform that is being developed in different regions of the world, including Baja California (MX)-San Diego (US), where she is the editor-curator of the project El Efecto Sedimentario.
She is the founder and editor-in-chief of INSITE Journal. She has held several curatorial positions in Mexican institutions, including Associate Curator at the Museo Tamayo; Coordinator of the Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros; Deputy Director of the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection of modern and contemporary art and Coordinator of the Museo de las Californias Collection at CECUT.
