Banda Municipal
Banda Municipal presents Diálogo uno by artists María José Sesma and Omar Gámez. Curated by Aleida Pardo.
The gallery presents a first dialogue between two artists who think of photography as a space of expansion and notion of our reality, talking about what we do not see or do not want to see and that at the same time defines us. For this dialogue, Sesma presents Espejismos, four pieces from his most recent research focused on observing and experiencing the forest as a wild ecosystem with its own laws and rhythms in which unpredictable catastrophes or marvelous phenomena can occur. Gámez exhibits three pieces from his Flores series, in which he reinterprets the still life genre from a contemporary perspective. This pictorial genre that represents inanimate objects, also known as still life, is retaken by the artist from an intimate and subversive sense, portraying friends through floral arrangements.
For Banda Municipal, Diálogo uno is the beginning of a cycle of visual conversations between our artists to reinforce our interest in artistic practices linked to personal and social memory, as well as the reflection of the body from a critical position.
