Luca Bray

Terreno Baldío presents the individual exhibition of Luca Bray.

The raw material in Bray is nothing else, as obvious as it may seem, than the substance itself. Here there is no make-up, technical artifice or conceptual adornment that beautifies or distracts, but a plastic fact itself. In the same way, it is worth noting in these works the way in which the matter is captured on the canvas or chosen surface. In his painting there is no trace of tools such as the brush, the spatula or any other object. Even the utensil that the artist uses to write dissolves and the words are incorporated into the painting as an intrinsic element of it.

Bray travels large areas, gets lost in populated sections, walks in search of stimuli and moments that nourish him, but without establishing a defined route or waiting for certain expectations or forecasts to be met. Chance seems to tell us: something, once the right elements have been "thrown" onto the stage, will happen.
