Year after year, the program of the festival supports the creation of new works of art made in collaboration and exchange between writers, visual artists and musicians from Chicago and Mexico City. In the months prior to this celebration, teams of artists, originally from these cities, work remotely to co-create a multidisciplinary performance.
The pieces resulting from this collaboration, both in Spanish and English, make up the festival's program, which explores the relationship between both languages, and captures the forms of art and culture of the United States and Mexico. It is a conversation between two countries to strengthen and promote lasting and meaningful professional ties, as well as intercultural friendships.
This bilateral meeting takes place, first in the city of Chicago, Illinois and later moves to the Mexican capital. The most outstanding event and closing of the program is the Live Magazine Show, which in its eighth edition refers to the theme of Structure, where artists consider in their creative development, the physical, political and social structures that inhabit and surround us.
On Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. there will be a show at the Dinosaur Forum of the Museo Universitario del Chopo: Live Magazine Show 2022 “Estructura” with Jazmina Barrera (MX) and Julietta Cheung (EU), Rocío Cerón (MX ) and Krista Franklin (EU), Pergentino José (MX) and Santiago X (EU), Daniel Monroy Cuevas (MX) / Amanda Goldblatt (EU) / Jordan Hicks (EU), Chantal Peñalosa (MX) / Jose-Luis Moctezuma ( USA) / Jacquelyn Carmen Guerrero (CQQCHIFRUIT)
