Latin American Art Auction

Morton Subastas brings a new edition of the Latin American Art Auction, in which from the beginning it has sought to promote a cultural dialogue and value this artistic tradition from an economic and aesthetic perspective, bringing unique pieces to be part of collections worldwide, this occasion is no exception.

Some of the names in this edition are the brothers Pedro and Rafael Coronel, teachers representing the Oaxacan school such as Rodolfo Morales, Sergio Hernández and Francisco Toledo, as well as Gabriel Orozco.

A section by Master Remedios Varo is presented, in which we appreciate work from the Varo Uranga family collection. Another present segment is that of Gunther Gerzso's pieces in which we observe a diversity of compositions under his personal style.

There are also some of the so-called “Messages” by the painter, sculptor and architect Mathias Goeritz in which he captured the most spiritual side of himself, which is reflected in the golden tones of the works.

Included is a piece by one of the most representative artists of Latin American art, Fernando Botero, who stood out for his distinctive style and ability to play with form and volume, as we see in lot 65, a design for the backdrop of the opera “Carmen”, where he demonstrated his ability to tell stories through the arrangement of elements in the stage space.

Each Latin American artist brings a unique perspective and an authentic voice to the art world, the fusion of ancient traditions with a contemporary language provides uniqueness that transcends borders and resonates globally. We invite you to enjoy this auction. Our specialists will be at your disposal for any questions.
