Juan Rafael Coronel Rivera

Mentiras. Paisajes tentativos

Patricia Conde Gallery presents the exhibition Mentiras. Paisajes tentativos Juan Rafael Coronel Rivera.

“In this see that” is the invitation that Octavio Paz gave us to look at the world in a poetic way. It is convenient to appreciate the work of Juan Rafael Coronel Rivera in this way, whose creative system combines times and visions and invites us to look at his photographs relating them to each other by imagination, by transposing references from one place to another, from one object to another, from one form to another, from one story to another, from one language to another, from one image to another.

A humble ephemeral component of the construction process, the small mounds that masons form to place and gather sand, cement, or stones have served Coronel Rivera to create Mentiras. Paisajes tentativos, a metaphor for the mountain, that geographical element that is, at the same time, a sign and a myth.
