Café Transversal VI

Javier Carro Temboury presents Café Transversal VI at Campeche.

Café Transversal is an itinerant series that begins with a simple gesture: in this action, the artist places on a table cups and plates, and invites the public to have a coffee. The visitors, active participants in this performance, place the used cups on the table, loaded with information: their color preferences, their choices of disposition, and even their saliva.

Immortalizing the scene, the artist pours concrete on the table, encapsulating the objects and respecting the composition organically created by the visitors. Once dry, the artist cuts the concrete plank into equal, ingot-like pieces, revealing strange sequences of glyphs formed by the ceramic objects that were transversely cut. These sculptures are witnesses of a convivial moment, the remnants of an exchange of voices, gestures and bodies gathered together.

Next Saturday, March 29, over a cup of café de olla, we invite you to participate in this first stage of production of the works that will make up Javier Carro Temboury's first solo exhibition at the gallery.
